This section is a collection of bizarre, unusual, irresponsible and highly irreprehensible legislation in place today. They do not serve any real or significant common or logical purpose other than ridicule and discomfort.

Four outdated laws of Japan

"That’s right, the current age of consent in Japan is 13. 13!! Compared to other nations, that’s quite low. There are only three other countries in the world that have an age of consent lower than Japan’s: the Philippines, Nigeria, and Angola." SC's verdict on Hindu women's inheritance rights in 2020

[i=s] Edited by DeeKay at 11-3-2021 10:30 AM * "A three-judge Bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra ruled that a Hindu woman's right to be a joint heir to the ancestral property is by birth and does not depend on whether her father was alive or not when the law was enacted in 2005." https://indianexpress.com/articl ... nce-rights-6550767/ Why is this important ? 1. The judgement has retrospective implications for property rights 2. It also over rules former male heirs right to property and gives equal rights to women. ( many states did enact this in late 80s onward but this case includes all women meaning those married off or born before the late 80s) 3. It might have implications for wills where only sons were given the property because of its retrospective nature pf the judgement. 4. What was the parent's property now becomes grandchildren's ancestral property which can be contested as children of women are also grandchildren in the larger sense. Just my take on this judgement.

Seven strange laws of India

In this article, we will talk about seven odd Indian laws that should be adjusted as quickly as time permits. " <https://www.indialegallive.com/legal/seven-strange-indian-laws-you-should-know/>
