The stock answers are Romeo and Juliet or Macbeth, mostly because they're short and get taught.

Book Desk: Twelfth Night or Much Ado. Comedies are easier to follow aloud than tragedies, and you get the pleasure of catching jokes that are four hundred years old.
Also worth saying: Macbeth is short, which is why it's taught, not because it's the best way in.
