Hi my friends, Penprak, Basston and Abhilasha, bros.

In recent days, from the Team of Moderators of CraxMe Forum, we have been trying to convey to the users of the Forum, our concern about the very low participation of users (not uploaders)... As we have expressed, the forum needs a greater participation because if there is not, then the forum may not have enough activity to allow its survival over time... The following is a current statistic that allows us to visualize the magnitude of this situation (the figures are approximate ): There are a little more than 1100 user registries, but only 1000 valid user accounts and of those 1000 user accounts, only 50 account are active, that is, only 50 users participate in the forum. Of the remaining 950 users, almost 100% are dedicated solely to download books from the Reading Room section, without taking into account that their participation is necessary and important as well.

In order to make the existence of CraxMe Forum sustainable over time, from the Moderators Team we want to know the opinion of our most representative Uploaders, regarding the following approach:

About the new user accounts, the restriction that is proposed, is to allow access to the Reading Room section, to those users who have the user level higher than "Newbie", in this way, Newbies users, will have to accumulate enough credits to level up and thus have access to more sections in the forum. Newbies users will be informed opportunely, all the alternatives that they will have to accumulate the necessary credits. Mainly encouraging them to share their comments and opinions in the other sections of the forum. With a minimum participation, newbies users can easily access an immediate higher level and finally have access to the most visited section of the Forum, the Reading Room section.

As we mentioned, the purpose of this access restriction is to allow a greater participation of new users, but there is also a collateral benefit that will help us in the security of the forum and in particular of the Reading Room section; we have detected that several newbies user accounts are used to review the contents of the Reading Room section and then denounce the books, to be removed from the forum. We also want to protect as much as possible, the valuable contributions that our users have made and are making to the section. And this restriction will help that purpose too.

Please, dear friends, your opinions are very important to us and it is in this sense that we want to know your thoughts on what has been planned do on this occasion. Together we can take forward the CraxMe Forum, which is for and for all of you.

Hi, Pedro! I think that the restriction to access the Reading Room section is not a bad idea. But also, I think that it will fix this problem until they reached the required level, then they will stop accumulating credits and just keep downloading without any comments or reviews. Maybe, I don't know, you can create some other restrictions too, like:

  • limit of downloads ( like 5 per day, or less). This limit will persist until users will make a review, upload or comment.
  • if the users credits remain the same for, let's say, 14 days, they can't download until increase the credits with at least 5.
  • users can download only if they push a special "thanks" button that will count as a review.
  • create a download/upload ratio for every user. If the ratio will show much more downloads then uploads, they have to balance this ratio, otherwise the users access will remain limited. I really don't know how to increase the participation of more users. Maybe this is non-sense what I wrote here, I just want to help you somehow! Hope that you, as a moderator with experience, will find something. All the best wishes, bro!

Hi, Pedro! I think that the restriction to access the Read ...

Hi Basston bro :)... All the ideas and opinions are welcome, and the suggestions you have made are very interesting... We need to evaluate the technical feasibility of some of them, it is necessary that @Dev Bro reviews them to see the posibility of implementing them... (y)

Yes there are many limitations. Very interesting suggestions have given by @Basston . Due to limitations we can't implement most of them. But I really appreciate the effort given by him to find some interesting ways to increase activity.

Let's see what we can do. @Pedro_P :)
