About this book

This book “Shiv Swaroop Maha Sidha Jaswant Giri Baba” was about a spiritual leader Baba Jaswant Giri. Baba was dear to Hindu devotees throughout North India. Baba’s early years are a mystery. Most accounts mention his birth as a Hindu Brahman belonging to Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara Varanashi. Baba Jaswant Giri arrived in Gyanpura Akhada Arainpura, Karnal in the North Indian state Haryana, about early 17 th century and remained there until his death . Baba Jaswant Giri had a considerable following of Hindus attracted by his compelling teachings and his performance of apparent miracles, which often involved the granting of wishes and the healing of the sick. The better part of his life lived in an Gyanpura Akhada Arainpura in Karnal, Haryana where he daily kept a fire burning. He is said to have had substantial knowledge of the Puranas, the Bhagavadgita, and various branches of Hindu thought. Baba’s teachings often took the form of paradoxical parables .In modern times, Gyanpura Akhada is a major pilgrimage site and many spiritual figures credited the teachings of Jaswant Giri Baba.
