इस पुस्तक की असली हकदार तारावती की किसी ने हत्या कर दी। उसका हत्यारा पकड़ा भी नहीं गया। जब यह बात मुझे पता चली तो कई रातों तक मैं सो नहीं पाई। आज भी इस पुस्तक पर कार्य करते-करते मुझे तारावती की मीठी और अपने ही अंदाज में कहानी कहती आवाज बार-बार सुनाई पड़ती है। तारावती को ढेरों कहानियाँ याद थीं। एक यात्रा के दौरान रात में वह कथाएँ सुना रही थी और मैं अपने फोन में उन्हें रिकॉर्ड करती जा रही थी। यह बात शायद तारा को क्या, तब मुझे भी पता नहीं थी कि मैं इन्हें प्रकाशित करवाऊँगी; परंतु तारावती के गुजरने के बाद मेरे लिए इन कहानियों को प्रकाशित करवाना बेहद महत्त्वपूर्ण हो गया, क्योंकि मुझे लग रहा है कि शायद वह इन कथाओं में ही थोड़ी जीवित रह जाएगी। वह जितनी अच्छी कथावाचक थी, उतनी ही अच्छी गायिका भी। वह ढोलक पर गीत भी खूब गाती थी। यह पुस्तक तारावती को ही समर्पित है। "Kalpit Kathayen" by Dr. Rekha Dwivedi: Dr. Rekha Dwivedi's book is a collection of fictional stories that transport readers into imaginative worlds.
