BUKU AJAR GENERAL WRITING

This book consists of 9 chapters. Each chapter includes description, learning objectives, teaching material, exercises and references to facilitate students’ understanding about general writing. The aim of this book is to help students in writing skill especially for beginner. The first chapter “Pre writing” discusses definition of writing, practice choosing and narrowing topic, gathering ideas and editing. The next section “Structure of Paragraph” explores definition of paragraph, organization of paragraph and identify supporting sentences. Opinion paragraph addresses fact and opinion, opinion paragraph, using modal auxiliaries and causal adverb to express opinion. Comparison and contrast paragraphs provides definition compare contrast, using comparative and contrastive structure. The next explains problem and solution paragraphs, then the structure of an essay. Outlining an essay discusses definition of outline, how to format an outline and evaluating an outline. Then introduction and conclusion and the final chapter is about unity and coherence
