About this book

Every individual is shaped by the society he or she lives in. The folkways and mores that one took for granted in our younger age are products of hundreds of years of seasoning. When these folkways and mores surrounding an important activity is organized into formal and binding system of belief and behavior an institution is developed. A person who have lived in rural areas have more chances of experiencing the folkways and mores which make them more human. Every human being has a feeling of nostalgia or memories of earlier days. I used to recollect my younger days where I used to watch the sunrise over the mountain, the birds, the woods, rivers and wild fruits that are part of a daily life activity. Then there was my community where I had the chance to interact with different types of people, joins a celebration, listened to myths and legends, and conform to taboos and gennas as a member of the group. "The beauty of our existence in a world drowning in chaotic changes can be traced back to our folkways, for we are shaped and fashioned by the folkways and institutions of our primary group. Our homes were built by them. Our hearts were warmed by them. We must be careful to observe them lest we lose our way and our roots decay. Let's harken to the call of long ago and return home to our folkways, of real life and love." - Author
