Reading to Build Better Judgment
GrowthDecision Making
One of the best reasons to read is to improve judgment. Reading exposes you to other minds, other situations, and other consequences.
When you read biography, history, or thoughtful fiction, you see how people respond under pressure. This builds a richer sense of cause and effect.
Ask while reading: what led to this outcome? What warning signs were visible early? What did this person misunderstand? These questions train judgment.
Good judgment grows from pattern recognition, patience, and reflection. Books can strengthen all three if you read actively.
You may not remember every detail from a book, but you can carry forward a better way of seeing choices. That is a valuable return on reading.
